Fourteen people, including Pwani University students, have been confirmed dead, while others have suffered serious injuries after their bus collided with a 14-seater matatu before overturning on the Nairobi-Naivasha Highway on Thursday, March 30.
According to preliminary reports, the brake failure of the bus carrying 30 people, including students and teachers, on their way to compete in a sports competition in Eldoret, , Uasin Gishu County, is suspected to be the cause of the accident.
Those who were injured were rushed to a nearby Health Facility to receive the necessary medical attention, and students were seen assisting those on the bus, while motorists were warned to be cautious as they approached the scene of the accident.
