Residents of Togonye Village in Kirinyaga County were shocked when they woke on Monday morning to find the body of Simon Nyaga, 57, discarded beside the road with stab wounds to the chest and other body parts.
The deceased’s family asserted that Nyaga was attacked as he was returning from the market and that his murder was prearranged because they didn’t take anything from him.

“I was stunned to learn of my brother’s death. We want to discover who killed him and what motivated such a horrific crime,” said Ms. Sicily Wanjiru, his sister.
Mwea East Sub-County Police Commander Daniel Kitavi assured the family that no stone will be left unturned as they begin their investigations to determine what happened. He also urged residents to be cooperative and that anyone with information should come forward and assist the police in their investigations.
