President William Ruto presided over his first Madaraka Day Celebrations since he took over from Uhuru Kenyatta, Ruto who arrived a few minutes past 11 am received a warm welcome from thousamds of Kenyans who had filled the Moi Stadium in Embu .After arrival ,the president took a lap of honour in the ceremonial Land Rover carriage as the crowd continued to cheer him.
Wetangula ask politicians to tone down
The speaker of the national assembly Moses Wetang’ula has urged politicians to tone down the political rhetoric and instead channel their energy into transforming the country .Speaking to journalists in Embu after arriving for the Madaraka Day Celebrations on Thursday , June 1, Wetang’ula called on politicians to embrace the spirit of nationalism
When asked if the house he oversees is working independtly , contrary to allegations that the parliament is ‘in bed’ with the executive , the speaker rubbished off those claims and emphasised that they are an independent arm of government.
