During his press briefing dumbed “Kindiki Delivers” Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Kithure Kindiki, stated that the government will not obstruct the ongoing rally being organized by ODM leader Raila Odinga as long as law and order are upheld.

“They are free to pursue their politics elsewhere. I have no business being involved in any demonstrations that some of them are performing. But only if they uphold law and order,” Mr. Kithure Said.

The cabinet secretary continued by warning that if the demonstrators broke the law and caused trouble, the government, and specifically his ministry, would take strong action.

“When they attempt to disobey the law, disturb the peace, or cause a riot, the Interior Ministry’s entire force will be brought to light on them. As long as they don’t disturb businesses or make offensive statements, they can hold rallies,” Kindiki added.

Kindiki Message comes after Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio La Umoja, founded a youth-led campaign named “movement for defense of democracy.”

Raila is anticipated to carry on with his nonviolent protest in an attempt to remove President William Ruto from office because, in Raila’s opinion, Ruto was the loser in the August 2022 general election and entered office in an unconstitutional manner. On Friday and Sunday of this week, he is anticipated to visit Mavoko and Busia County respectively.
