Following the appointment of 50 Cabinet Administrative Secretaries (CAS) by President William Ruto last week, three CAS, Samuel Ole Tunai and Mohamud Saleh, were appointed to the Ministry of Interior, which is led by Kithure Kindiki, who announced on Monday, March 27, 2023 morning that the ministry had assigned various duties to them.
In a statement, he congratulated and welcomed them to his ministry, stating that they will begin their assigned responsibilities once the ongoing judicial process issues a ruling after it was alleged that the President violated the law by assigning the CAS.
“Congratulations on your selection as Cabinet Administrative Secretaries (CASs) in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration. Hello and welcome to the Ministry,” The statement read.


Millicent Omanga, who ran on the UDA ticket as Woman Representative for Nairobi but was defeated by Esther Passaris, has been given the mandate to serve in the State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services as well as be in charge of Civil Registration Services (CRS) reforms. She will also serve in the National Registration Bureau (NRB) and the Department of Refugee Affairs. (DRA).
Ole Tanui will report to the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration, while Mohamud Saleh will report to the State Department for Correctional Services, where he will be in charge of reforms in the Kenya Prisons Service (KPS), as well as Borstal Institutions and the Probation Department.
