The famous hit maker of the song ‘Nakupenda’ Salim Said Juma popularly known a jay melody on an interview with Radio Citizen mambo mseto went ahead and said that he wrote song for Willy Paul ” njiwa featuring Nandy. He said that he gave the song to Willy Paul since he had no money to jump into the industry.
His music career begun at an early age though he wanted to become a successful businessman because he believed without connections he would not get through Tanzania’s music industry.
“i wrote the song and came up with the melody, it was after i wrote njiwa and kakololo that i was recognized as a music writer never did we meet with willy Paul one on one .I was paid a good amount of money. Thereafter i wrote several songs hallelujah and Nadia Mukami’s nitadata.”
Jay said the money he was paid by Nandy after writing her a song he used it to buy a new phone. For Willy Paul was also business. He explained that he had stopped writing songs for artists because he felt that he was not appreciated well .The singer said that he now determined to be a great musician in future and that he looks forward to give his fans the best that he could.
He did not forget his fans in Kenya and said that he feels Kenya is home and whenever is writes a song he always targets Kenyans for the love they show him and his music career. Says a new song to drop soon.
