The Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) has nnounced that it will be temporarily shutting down its Nairobi Central and regional warehouses.

In a notice dated Tuesday, June 28, KEMSA announced that its services will be temporary unavailable for one week period as from Friday, July 1 until Friday, July 8.

The institution is aiming at getting g enough time to take account of its stock as it is supposed to conduct an annual stock audit.

“We wish to notify our esteemed customers and the general public that we shall be closing our Nairobi Central and Regional warehouses for the annual stock-take, effective Friday 1 to Friday July 8, both days inclusive,”.

The institutions will be suspending some services including issuance of receipts and dispatches of medical supplies with an exception of emergency situations.

On the other hand, UDA presidential aspirant William Ruto vows to rob KEMSA its monopoly power in case he becomes the president come August 9.

KEMSA is tasked with procuring warehouse, distributing drugs and medical supplies for prescribed public health programs.
