Police officers are looking for Peterson Kamau, who is suspected of killing his brother, Julius Gitari, at Muthigi village in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, after hitting him with a blunt object and leaving him for dead.

According to Pauline Gitari, the deceased’s wife, the suspect called her husband outside for a talk, where they had a confrontation, prompting her to investigate, only to find the husband lying in a pool of blood and the brother fleeing the scene after she raised an alarm by screaming.
“He called my husband at around 9:30 pm before the confrontation ensued. Moments later, I found my husband lying in a pool of blood,” she said.
As the body was taken to the Kerugoya Hospital mortuary for a postmortem, Mbatian Kantai, the Mwea West Sub County Police Commander, urged the locals who are demanding for the arrest of the suspect to come forward with any information that could hasten the investigation.
