Residents of Mwea Sub-county in Embu County were On Thursday left in shocked after they discovered the body of a woman who went missing on Sunday, murdered with her eyes plucked out, one hand chopped off, and the face burned with what is suspected to be acid.

Reports indicate that the woman may have been abducted, murdered, and then her corpse placed next to a pastor’s home in an abandoned house.

“The deceased’s body had been dumped not far from my house. This is a severe issue that requires in-depth investigation so as to ascertain what actually happened,” said Pastor Boniface Mwangi.

Ms. Nancy Wambui, a member of the Nyumba Kumi Initiative, claimed that she was at home when she heard that a woman had been killed. This drove her to travel to the location of the crime, where she was stunned to discover the victim’s injustice.

“The news that a woman had been discovered dead reached me when I was at home. I arrived at the scene right once and was horrified to see the woman, whose body had been severely mutilated,” said MS Wambui.

After being called by the locals at the crime scene, who lamented that insecurity was on the rise in the region, police officials brought the body to a mortuary for a post-mortem to ascertain how the victim died.

“The police should intervene to protect us by bringing the perpetrators to justice so they can be punished in accordance with the law since they have entered the area and are killing and maiming our citizens,” said another resident.

Chrispinus Ogutu, the chief of the Mwea Sub-County police department, stated that the investigations had already begun while urging any locals with information to come forward and assist the authorities.
