Ibrahim Mohammed Maalim, a motorist who allegedly threatened to chop Ahmedsadak Abshir neck in Eastleigh on February 18 was charged with issuing death threats contrary to Section 223 (1) of the Penal Code.

According to reports, there was a confrontation between the two parties after the accused joined Mr. Abshir on the same route where he was driving and accused him of obstructing traffic, which led to him uttering the words, “I will cut your neck with this knife,” to the complainant.

Mr. Maalim is said to have come out of his car with a knife in his hand and went to Abshir’s car, uttering insults and threatening to cut him on the neck, prompting the patrol police to intervene and Mr. Maalim to be arrested and taken to Pangani Police Station as the investigation into what caused the commotion began.

After denying the charges in front of Makadara Law Courts Senior Principal Magistrate Mary Njagi, the accused was released on a Sh500,000 bond. The case will be mentioned on March 28, 2023, before the hearing begins on May 8, 2023.
