A student of Chavakali Boys High School who died in a road accident on Monday night has been identified. The accident involving the Easy Coach bus that was transporting students home for the April holiday happened in Mamboleo, Kisumu county around three o’clock on Tuesday night.

Several students were injured while one student identified as Joseph Maduli passed away. It has been revealed that the 17-year-old boy is the son of Mugithi song star Mary Wangari Gioche who is better known as Kareh B. Singer Kareh B spoke to Citizen TV on Tuesday where she explained how she found out about the accident through social media on Tuesday night. She said that she along with other parents had already expressed their concern about the students traveling at night, but that was the only travel plan that the school could prepare for the students.

The singer said she came to know that his son died in the accident on Tuesday morning, several hours after the accident happened. She noted that his son said goodbye after many students who traveled from Kisumu to Nairobi arrived in Nairobi on Tuesday morning, but his son failed to arrive.

Two other students who were seriously injured in the accident continue to receive special treatment at a hospital in Kisumu while 32 others who suffered minor injuries received treatment at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga hospital.
