Police are hunting down a man after 22 guns and 565 bullets were recovered in his office.
Ken Wycliff Okello who has been established to have been a licensed firearm dealer is being hunted by detectives from Anti-Terror Police unit. This is after police in a mission to enable an auctioneer to recover sh4.9 million stumbled upon the guns today in the morning.
The Director of Criminal I vestigatons George Kinoti has given Okello 24 hours to surrender to the police.
“The suspect who has since gone into hiding is wanted and has 24 hours to surrender to the nearest DCI offices. Should anyone have information on his whereabouts, please dial 0800 722 203,” Kinoti said.
Ken Okello is a proprietor of Vic. Technologies Limited and a licensed dealer in firearms but was suspended 3 years ago. He had failed paying his monthly rent prompting the landlord, Ballon Wanjala Nangalama, to head to court seeking an order to allow him break into the premises.
The police on arrival with Hebros auctioneers gained entry into the premises and stumbled upon the 22 guns, 30 slings, 10 snipper torches, 25 pistol holsters, dozens of magazine carriers and a certificate of registration as a firearm dealer.
