Sporting Equipment
Travelling with sporting equipment
Qatar Airways accepts any sporting equipment as checked baggage as part of the passenger’s free checked baggage allowance mentioned on the ticket.
Any sporting equipment which exceeds the free allowance will be subject to additional baggage rates.
Please refer to the tables below to find the additional baggage rates that apply to sporting equipment when purchased offline, up to 6hrs prior to departure.

Terms and conditions
- Rates are applied according to the origin and destination, irrespective of the point of sale;
- Additional baggage rates for sporting equipment mentioned above apply only when purchased up to 6 hours prior to scheduled departure. Standard additional baggage rates (mentioned in the second tab) apply for sporting equipment allowance purchased at the airport;
- Changes are permitted free of charge.
- Cancellations are permitted free of charge. The value of the purchase can be used toward further transportation or as a refund.
- The size of small or medium pieces should not exceed a dimension of 217 cm (length + width + height).
- The size of large pieces should not exceed a dimension of 300 cm (length + width + height).
Surfboard Carriage
Surfboards are accepted as checked baggage as part of the passenger’s free checked baggage allowance mentioned in the ticket.
Surfboards which exceed the free baggage allowance (weight and piece concept) with maximum dimensions (Length + Width + Height) of 300 cm (on weight concept flights) and 158 cm (on piece concept flights) will be charged in accordance with the additional baggage rates for sports equipment.
Exceptions to the above rule apply for customers travelling to/from Sao Paulo to/from Bali, Singapore, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur with surfboards exceeding 158cms (L+W+H).
Animals
Transportation of animals
Qatar Airways accepts the transportation of animals, subject to regulations in origin and destination countries and to the regulations of any countries through which the pet will transit or transfer.
Falcons are permitted to travel in the Economy Class cabin, whilst other animals are transported as checked baggage.
