Police are investigating an incident that happened on Wednesday, February 15 at the residence of CS Aisha Jumwa, the cabinet secretary for Public Service, which was raided by armed individuals who made off with valuable items, including cash.

Police report state that the robbers cut the electric perimeter wall to gain access to the main residence through the back door, which was unlocked.

The gang is believed to have started off by stealing computers, gold jewelry, and other accessories. Then, after entering the room where Jumwa’s two daughters were sleeping, they got into an altercation and stole Ksh1.1 million from them.

According to a police report filed under O/B number 3/15/02/2023, the trio carried out a well-planned scheme to gain access to Jumwa’s compound.

During the altercation, one of the daughters was said to have suffered minor injuries. Reports indicate that the incident occurred around 1:45 p.m., while the Public Affairs CS was on official duty.

The cabinet secretary recently revealed her fortune to the public at a vetting session that took place in October, during which she claimed to have a net worth of Ksh100 million and to own homes in Nairobi and Malindi which amount to Ksh85 million.
