On Saturday 6 May 2023 in Kamukunji Nairobi area, a Rwandan woman was found dead a bus stop in Muthurwa. According to touts, the woman sat next to her luggage and they noticed that she had not moved for a while before realizing that she was dead.
“It is unclear where the woman was headed at the time of the incident but most public service vehicles operating at the bus stop head to East-lands,” said area police commander.
The officer added, “She was alone at the time of the Saturday incident and police recovered a passport from her pocket to identify her.” It indicated that she was Dancila Niharabimana. Her body was taken to city mortuary for an autopsy to determine what might have caused her death.
Elsewhere in Kibera, an Ethiopian national was found dead in his room two days after complaining he did not have food.
The body of Joseph Defere Ghutta was found in his room while half naked and with some foam from his mouth. His neighbors told police he lived alone and been complaining of hunger.
The deceased is said to have complained of having not eaten for two days and had earlier complained of a stomachache for the last three days, the neighbors said.
Apparently, he went to his house on Saturday morning and failed to show up until his body was discovered a day later.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Police say they are investigating the cause of the deaths of the two foreigners.
