Kenyan boys band Sauti Sol are exiting the Music Copyright Society of Kenya, MCSK, with regrets .
This comes a week after Sauti Sol shared their royalty earning of Ksh 14,000 each. A couple of creatives also shared their earning which they termed as a big joke. Sauti Sol has urged other Kenyan Artistes, creators and composers feeling played by MCSK to deregister.
MCSK is tasked with collecting royalties on behalf of authors, composers, arrangers and publishers of music in the country. Embezzlement of funds at MCSK has played a key role in distribution of meager earnings.
