Three people were killed and one was seriously injured on Wednesday morning after bandits attacked them in their local grazing fields in the Korolle area of Kargi, Marsabit County.

According to Mohamud Arbelle, the assistant chief of Kargi, who confirmed that the event took place at around 2AM in the morning, the alleged bandits killed two children and one man while leaving the other with gunshot wounds. He was then rushed to Kargi Hospital to awaiting treatment.

“Three individuals are dead at the moment, while a fourth one has been admitted with gunshot wounds to Kargi Hospital,” said Mr. Arbelle.

According to reports, the alleged bandits shot from the bushes before making off with at least 1000 goats and sheep. Marsabit County police commander Robinson Mboloi said that investigations had been launched to determine the extent of the attackers’ damage.

“We have sent a group of multi-agency security officials to the region, and we will provide further details about the bandit attack on the Kargi location as they become available,” Mr. Mboloi stated.

This comes after residents of Laisamis reported seeing runaway bandits from neighboring Samburu County in their area since the government declared security personnel in the rift valley regions.
