Four people died on the spot while several others were injured when the car they were traveling in was involved in an accident in the Koroma area of Kirinyaga county on Saturday night.
Police said the accident happened along the Ngaru – Gatuto road. The driver of PSV 14, known as Matatu, was driving from Kerugoya to Kagio via Ngaru – Gatuto road when he lost control of the vehicle while trying to take a sharp corner when the car rolled several times.
The bodies of the deceased were transferred to the Kerugoya County Referral Hospital mortuary pending post-mortem. The badly damaged car was towed to the Kerugoya Police Station where it was detained pending an inspection.
