Singer Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee has described the tragedy that befell her on Sunday night, April 8.
Akothee shared a video on her social media page, Instagram telling her fans what she is going through. In the video, her face and eyes were swollen and made fans worry about whether she is in good condition and whether she is getting enough rest.
Through the social network, the 43-year-old mother of five children explained that she found herself asleep at the wheel and could not drive herself home.
“I found myself asleep at the wheel, I couldn’t drive myself home after dropping off my grandchildren”, Akothee explained
She added: “I slept at my brother-in-law’s house. I went straight to bed, woke up at 10am, and tried to drive back to my house because of my morning routine. I fell asleep at the wheel and found myself driving off the road.
The distance to my home from Mtwapa was not 10 minutes but felt like an hour. I got to the gate and before it opened I was asleep. The security guards were just waiting while the gate was open, wondering why I wasn’t going inside. So, he came to knock on the window. I felt very disgusted and angry with him. I was wondering who was knocking on my bedroom door when no one was allowed upstairs. Turns out, I was out.”
Her fans have responded to the video she shared wondering if she gets enough rest after working so much.
