A family from Nakuru County that lost more than 5 family members in a fatal accident on the Mombasa-Nairobi highway in Salama during the Easter season has requested more than 4 million for funeral arrangements.

The family, through their spokesman named Mwaniki, disclosed the heavy budget in the funeral service organized on Sunday evening and broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the charity Karangu Muraya.

Initial reports said that the family lost a total of 6 people but the family spokesperson said that one more person died later in the hospital making the total number of family members who died in the accident to 7 people.

“This has happened to us, so we have nothing to say or blame God or anyone because when these things happen there are those assumptions people say but we stand with the slogan that God is good,” Mwaniki began.

“That is our motto, that despite all these things being done, the meaning of losing 6 loved ones, and this morning the one who was in the ICU, has left us. The little one who was in Karen’s hospital, now we will also add his picture to the poster with 6 family members who are already deceased,” he added sadly.

Mwaniki went ahead and listed how the budget of 4 million shillings will be used in preparing the funeral of the 7 family members.
