Member of Parliament for Embakasi East, Babu Owino has responded to President Ruto’s statement to doctors that there is not enough money in the government treasury to meet their demands on strike, including salary increases.

In a video that the ODM MP posted on his online pages, he said that he has a solution for President Ruto to end the doctors’ strike which is now in its third week and has crippled many medical operations in public hospitals in the country.

Owino advised President Ruto to auction one of his expensive watches to get money to pay the doctors so they can go back to work.

He also urged the doctors not to cancel their strike until their demands are heard and implemented by the government.

The Member of Parliament went ahead and quoted a passage from the Bible about a father leaving his sons a meaningful legacy.

The doctors’ strike has continued for almost a month now demanding that the 2017 CBA contract be implemented, including increasing the salary of trainee doctors from 70 thousand to 204 thousand.

On the weekend, the general secretary of the union of doctors KMPDU, Devji Atellah said medical activities will continue to be disrupted throughout the country and even called for another protest this Tuesday today.
