A doctor has been sentenced to 12 years in prison, for being a member of a terrorist group. Dr. Mohamed Abdu Ali, who was serving at Makueni Hospital Level Four, was sentenced by Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku.
The imprisonment begins on April 29, 2016, when he was detained by the police. He was convicted of being a member of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group.
The court found him guilty of planning a terrorist attack using deadly anthrax bacteria
According to the plan of Dr. Ali and his partners abroad, their goals was to put dangerous germs in human cells, thus causing sudden death to the victims.
In the judgment handed down by Mrs. Mutuku, Dr. Ali was found guilty of five counts of being a member of a terrorist group, organizing a meeting to support and promote the activities of a meeting of a terrorist group, inciting people into terrorism, gathering information with the aim of currying out an attack terrorist and possessing documents related to the execution of a terrorist act.
However, the court acquitted the defendant’s wife, Mrs. Nuseiba Mohamed Haji Osman or Umm Fidda, who had been charged with her husband in all those charges.
The court said that there was no evidence of Dr. Ali’s wife to link to those crimes.
