A Moi University bus has been involved in an accident on the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway.
The bus carrying students on its way to Mombasa for an educational trip, crashed in Kimende area near Limuru on Wednesday, March 27. Initial reports state that the driver was trying to pass another car, but he failed to control the bus while returning to the road and then hit a ditch.
From videos and photos shared online by Kenyans, locals were seen at the scene rescuing the students and the driver before the police and other emergency workers arrived.
As of the time of publishing this story, no injuries had been reported, but the students on the bus suffered minor injuries. Police officers arrived at the scene to continue rescue operations and control traffic on the busy highway. The police are investigating the cause of the accident while the injured students are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
