A civilian plane crash in Sudan has left nine people dead, including four soldiers. According to the Sudanese army, the cause of the plane crash is believed to be related to technical reasons. It malfunctioned as it was taking off before crashing. They also added that a female child survived the crush.

 

“A civilian Antonov plane today crashed at Port Sudan Airport as a result of a technical failure, leading to the deaths of nine people, including four military personnel. One child survived the crash,” said the statement by the office of the spokesperson of the armed forces.

The Sunday incident happened as the war-torn country entered its 100th day of war. The war in Sudan has left millions trapped without food and water. The most affected were residents from Khartoum who were calling for food donations to help them survive. Thousands have died while millions have been displaced since the war started.
