A police officer from Kipipiri, Nyandarua County was found brutally murdered in an incident believed to be a possible love triangle. The Thursday incident left residents in shock as the victim’s body was found in a pool of blood with some parts of his body mutilated. The residents informed the police and officers from Turasha Police Station came to analyze the grisly scene.
The body of 59-year old Joseph Kahungu was found with cuts on the face and neck, with his wrist and foot severed from his body. According to police investigations, the deceased was last seen leaving Turasha Police Station to get some cigarettes from a shop close by.
40-year-old Tabitha Wanjira, the ex-wife to the deceased has been detained to aid in police investigations. “The motive of murder is suspected to be love triangle. The officer was due for retirement on October 24, 2023. The scene was visited by SCPC Kipipiri, DCI Kipipiri, OCS Turasha and processed,” said a police report.
The deceased’s body was moved to JM Kariuki Hospital morgue for an autopsy as investigations continue.
