PRESIDENT William Ruto has said that the Government and religious organizations have a common responsibility to cooperate in efforts to face evil in society and raise them economically.

President Ruto said the government will continue to cooperate with churches to improve the standard of living of Kenyans.

Speaking on Tuesday April 9, 2024, during the 24th Session of the General Council of the PCEA Church, in Nairobi, President Ruto expressed his satisfaction with the role played by churches in developing education, health among other important issues.

“ We enjoy the role played by churches in matters of education, health and mobilizing the community about different things,” said.

The President said the government will continue to cooperate with churches to develop development projects to help citizens.

He asked church leaders to help the government deal with illegal alcohol, the use of narcotics and the challenges of insecurity arising from livestock theft.

He expressed his regret that many families have been affected by the effects of the use of illegal alcohol and narcotics, because many young people are addicted to the use of these dangerous products.

President Ruto has been insisting that the government will not relax its efforts in dealing with the use of these dangerous products for the future of many young people.

However, the President agreed that unemployment has greatly contributed to the use of alcohol and narcotics.

He said many young people have been involved in these evils for lack of something to do.
