A male STUDENT of Kisii University has been found dead in a tenement house on Gekomu street in Nyaribari Chache constituency. The third-year student, was 23 years old, belongs to the Faculty of Animal Science department at the university.
His body was found hanging from the roof of his room on Tuesday morning according to the report of Kiamabundu deputy chief John Ondande. Mr Ondande said the student before taking his own life sent his friend a short message (SMS) informing him that he decided to take his own life because his lover had broken off his relationship with him.
The chief added that on Monday evening, neighbors saw him destroying his calculator as one way of expressing his anger. Chief urged the youth not to take relationships that start in college seriously because anything can happen.
He added, “To the sisters, if you have decided to break up with someone, please stop sending him mocking messages, which can give them stress. If you have decided to break up with him, do it wisely. The family of his friend who is from Kenya has been told about what happened before the body was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
