James Maddison of Leicester city is currently being pursued by Newcastle, who is presently ahead of Tottenham.

The attacking midfielder, who only has one year left on his contract, is a target for both teams this summer.

During the January transfer window, Eddie Howe’s team expressed interest in the 26-year-old, but Leicester refused to sell him. However, after being relegated, Leicester is open to receiving bids for England midfielder James Maddison.

Given their remarkable improvement under Howe last season, Newcastle, who are eager to increase their depth ahead of the forthcoming season, are able to provide Maddison Champions League football even though he has long-time admirers like Spurs.

However, now that Ange Postecoglou has been appointed head coach, Tottenham might openly declare their interest.

To complete the required squad rebuild this summer, Spurs and Postecoglou are currently deciding which players will stay or leave.

Several Leicester players, including winger Harvey Barnes and Maddison, who joined from Norwich in 2018, are expected to leave the King Power Stadium.

Maddison’s reputation is still untarnished despite Leicester being relegated. In spite of the team’s difficult season, he still managed 10 goals and 9 assists in Premier League matches alone.

It was an expansion of his extraordinary body of work at the King Power Stadium. Over the course of five seasons, he has grown into one of the top attacking midfielders in the Premier League.
